My buddy was adopted 2 months ago from an animal shelter. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He totally loves people. We had to start training from complete scratch. He knows sit, we have trained on not rushing in and out of a door when it’s opened, he does well *most* of the time in his crate, is SUCH a cuddle bug, loves to talk and voice his excitement (and discontent), and he lights up at his favorite word “outside!”
I am in need of rehoming him for a couple reasons.
1. I work full time and go to college, so he is in a crate for 9 hours straight on weekdays. As I stated previously, he does well *most* of the time, but gets very antsy at about hour 4, but does settle back down after a minute or two. He is an escape artist and I have to keep caribeeners on the crate door because he will escape without them. So some more crate training would be helpful, but keeping caribeeners on the door when you leave him in his crate for an extended time is recommended. So, he needs to be in a home where he won’t be kept in a crate for such a long time for so many days of the week.
2. I have two cats, one he warmed up to after about 2 weeks. That cat he warmed up to is very outgoing and doesn’t scare easily. My other cat, though, is shy, and scared of Sarge, Sarge does not get along as well with him. So preferably a home without any cats or dogs would be best.
He is SUCH a fast learner and is SO smart, he deserves someone who has more time to help him and his needs. He learns obedience so, so quick. With my pride and love for him out of the way, I am not the perfect person for him.
It took me a long time and many tears to come to this decision.
With his rehoming, he will come with all of his belongings: Xtra Large wired crate, the caribeeners (lol), KONG double stitched dog crate mat, collar, 4 foot leash, 30 foot leash, Purina One chicken and rice
